Tavan hails from a small town in Central Illinois. If you’ve not been to the region, you’d probably be shocked to learn that it’s comprised primarily of cornfields. Alright, that joke was pretty corny. And, the pun makes it worse. Tavan has a much better sense of humor than the author of this bio but he does share a common place of origin with said author in Central Illinois.
Although he eventually left Illinois, Tavan would earn his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, Springfield and his CPA license from the state of Illinois. Setting his sights on career growth and an amazing tan, he decided to move to Arizona. There, he would perfect his tan and build his career, meeting Adam Ripperdan along the way which would eventually lead him to Dark Horse. Since moving to Arizona, he’s primarily focused his efforts toward creating and executing tax planning strategies for entrepreneurs. And, he knows how to serve entrepreneurs because he is an entrepreneur himself; he owns and operates a short-term rental management business.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Tavan spends a fair share of time working out and exercising but is quick to point out that he also works out a different muscle in his free time…his brain as he loves to read and play video games. A self-professed nerd, looks can be deceiving. He also enjoys spending time with the family which includes his wife, a spoiled dog and an energetic cat. Both pets will need to learn how to live on less attention in the near future as they are expecting their first child this summer!
